With the magic slowly starting to dwindle, as those who once protected mafic in the world of Kyūkyoku have been taken away, the pressure begins to mount on those who were swords to protect magic since they are now running out of time. Those who had been protecting magic had been taken away, and those who remain are still trying to understand the gifts that they had been given. There is much to be learned, but there is not enough time for them to comprehend the gifts that they have been given since the spawn of all that is evil continues to wreak havoc on the world. New demons appear as what was good is slowly becoming extinct and unable to fight for their survival. Even with someone who is to be the savior of Kyūkyoku being where she needs to be, there has not been enough knowledge passed on her to where she would be able to defeat the evils that have slowly taken over the world that she calls home.
The balance between good and evil continues to become increasingly unbalanced as one begins to flex its domination over the other, and corruption continues to run amuck within the world of Kyūkyoku. With the support from the people she loved being taken away from her, Catara must learn how to work with someone she is beginning to get to know. The risks that they are facing are beyond what they would ever imagine. No matter how hard she tries, the frustration that Catara feels as she struggles to learn the new gifts that she has been given continues to put pressure on her mind. There is much for this new heroine to learn as she knows the pressures that she is facing. Confidence may be a more dangerous enemy than the one that she is forced to face.
